
Claude Barras
After graduating in illustration from the Émile Cohl School and studying anthropology at the Lumière University in Lyon, Claude Barras returned to Switzerland in 2001 to specialize in computer graphics at ECAL. He then directed seven animated short films within the HÉLIUM FILMS collective, which were selected and awarded at numerous festivals.
In 2013, he began working on his first feature-length film, Ma vie de Courgette. Three years later, the film premiered at the La Quinzaine at the Cannes Film Festival. To date, it has won 50 awards, including two Césars, three Quartz awards, a European Film Award, two Crystals at Annecy, and was nominated for both a Golden Globe and an Oscar. Ma vie de Courgette was also sold in sixty countries, including Russia, China, and Japan.
Claude is currently developing new feature film projects while continuing to produce short films for the HÉLIUM FILMS collective in Lausanne.

Kéria, eleven years old, lives with her father in the rural outskirts of a city in the Sarawak province on the island of Borneo. She’s an urban girl who loves stylish haircuts and hip-hop music. Her mother died when she was very young. Kéria has no memory of her, but her father told her she was devoured by a panther.
