Damián Vondrášek

Damián Vondrášek studies directing at Prague’s FAMU. His first short TOGETHER (2015) won the best director award at Famufest. IMPRISONED (2016) was selected at San Sebastian and Karlovy Vary and also nominated for the best student film at the Czech Lion Awards. FRONTIER (2020) premiered at Trieste and got two nominations at the Czech Lion Awards. His upcoming short RITES is in development.

LIM | Less is More 2021

Elementary school teacher Eva (30) is at crossroads. Her husband Robert is pushing for her to have a child but Eva feels insecure. She lacks something in her life and becoming a mother doesn’t seem like an ultimate solution. Her friend introduces her to a spiritual leader Kaia, someone who is sensitive to her doubts and needs. Kaia offers her a spiritual path that comes into conflict with Robert, who takes Kaia for a charlatan. But when he starts to oppose her, Eva leaves for the countryside and joins Kaia’s community. Robert has to swallow his pride and pretend to become Kaia’s follower in order to bring Eva home.

GODDESS is a story about a married couple which falls into a cult and about their intricate way out.
