Denis Spiridonov

Born in 1985 in the Moscow region, Denis first studied journalism and art criticism at Moscow State University, then film directing at the Moscow School of New Cinema and theater directing at the Moscow Art Theatre. His short films Free (2019) and It Is Good to Wander the World (2015) were selected at international festivals in Brussels, Bogotá, and beyond.

Today, he lives and works in France.

Moscow, 2016. Anton Serko, an ordinary man who accidentally became a political prisoner, is released after three and a half years in prison. Now his goal is to live a quiet life with his mother, far from the political affairs of the country. But it’s a lost cause. Due to a confrontation with the police, who regularly monitor his home, Anton faces the threat of being imprisoned again. He flees to the south of Russia, becoming increasingly confused about the events unfolding in his life and the future of his country.
