Elie Girard
After training at ENS Louis Lumière, Elie Girard worked as a director of photography on around thirty short films and directed music videos (notably with La Blogothèque). At the same time, he developed his screenwriting skills, attending the Fémis Screenwriting Workshop in 2016, where he wrote his first feature film, Le Meilleur Groupe du Monde, a bromance about lost friendship. In 2021, he directed the medium-length film Les Mauvais Garçons, which won awards at numerous festivals and won the César for Best Short Film in 2022. Following this success, he co-wrote and co-directed the series Platonique for OCS, blending friendship and romantic comedy. He also directed Les Trois Mousquetaires, a series adaptation of the play by the 49701 collective.
Currently, Elie divides his time between writing, directing, and his collective La Bande Passante, which organizes self-managed writing residencies. In 2023, he is developing his first feature film, L’Épisode Cévenol (working title), with the Films Grand Huit.
