Jenna Hasse
Jenna studied Cinema at the University in Lausanne and then Drama at the INSAS in Brussels where she obtained her Master degree. She works as actress and filmmaker and explores in her films the duality of her status and stages the intimate through the lives of her protagonists.
Her award-winning short IN AUGUST (2014) premiered at the Quinzaine des Cinéastes in Cannes and also screened at Rotterdam IFFR and BFI London among others. Her second short SOLTAR (2016) and her medium-length documentary, THE PROTAGONIST (2020) were screened at FIFF Namur, Curtas Vila do Conde and DocLisboa.
LONGING FOR THE WORLD is her first feature-length awarded by the Special Mention from the Int. Jury in Berlinale Generation 2023. The film was nominated for the Young Audience Award at the European Academy in 2023, and for the Swiss Cinema Prize as best fiction film in 2024.
