Julien Lilti

Simon Rouby, a graphic designer graduated from the École des Gobelins, and Julien Lilti, a screenwriter graduated from the European Conservatory of Audiovisual Writing, met while working on a common project: bringing the animated film Adama to life.

Together they developed this feature film in Plounéour-Brignogan as part of the 2009 Annual Selection and later through the Script & Pitch program of the TorinoFilmLab.

Adama

Annual Selection 2009

1916. Adama, 12 years old, lives in an isolated village in West Africa. Beyond the cliffs lies the World of Winds, ruled by the Nassaras. One night, his older brother Samba disappears. Defying the elders’ veto, Adama sets out in search of him. With the unwavering determination of a child on the cusp of adulthood, he embarks on a journey taking him across the seas, to the North, and eventually to the front lines of World War I.
