J’ai attrapé un esprit
Annual Selection 2020
Guadeloupe, 2020. Boboy, 15, lives in a dysfunctional family: his father and mother no longer get along. Boboy takes his father’s side. He’s a “true Guadeloupean”, whom he wants to please and look like, while his mother, a Haitian who immigrated illegally some twenty years ago, is an outcast in this society. Both men blame her for everything: her origins, her beliefs, her lifestyle. When she leaves the marital home after yet another argument, Boboy sets out to find her. But to find her, he has to open himself up to a world he had previously rejected.
