LIM | Less is More 2021

The story takes place somewhere in the United Republic of Vitkacland. Fledgling painter Bungo (22) suffers from a fear of a strange imaginary revolution erupting in the area. He begins to lose the ability to discern what is true from what is just a figment of his imagination. One day the mysterious opera singer, Madame Akne (40), gives a performance at the party in Bungo’s family house and he begins to exhibit strong and passionate feelings towards her. It turns out that this event is actually a wedding party for Bungo and his childhood friend, Angelica (20). Moreover, Madame Akne is in fact, his father’s second wife. Bungo can’t help it, he madly falls for her although their love is impossible. Will those feelings lead Bungo to spark a revolution?

A loose adaptation of the debut novel by Witkacy, one of the most original and radical Polish writers of the 20th century.
