Morgan Navarro

Born in Grenoble in 1975. Happy childhood in Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire and Brittany. Adolescence devoted almost exclusively to skateboarding. Studied architecture with phlegm and disdain in the early 90s, then quickly abandoned for a dissolute life.
A rewarding or tragic idleness that culminated in the decision to become a comic book artist. Initially published in magazines such as Ferraille, Le Dernier Neurone and Le Martien. Participation in various collective adventures, including “Comix 2000” (l’Association) and “La Maison Close” (Delcourt), as well as “Rock Strips” (Flammarion). In 2002, he signed “Flipper le flippé”, describing with humor and tenderness the daily life of a suburban teenage cetacean.

In 2012, he received the Prix de l’Audace in Angoulème for his album “Teddy Beat”. Co-wrote the screenplay for Claude Barras’ “Ma vie de Courgette”, which won the César for Best Adaptation in 2017.

Since 2015, he has run the comic blog “Ma vie de réac” on le monde.fr. He co-wrote “Sauvages” with Claude Barras.

Sauvages

Eleven-year-old Kéria lives with her father in the rural suburbs of a town in Sarawak province, on the island of Borneo. She’s an urban girl who loves stylish haircuts and hip-hop music. Her mother died when she was very young. Kéria has no memory of it, but her father tells her she was eaten by a panther.
