Birds of a Feather…

LIM | Less is More 2021

BIRDS OF A FEATHER… is a fairy-tale set nowadays in the wet, grim and gray city of Brest, where fog and rain often blur the borders between worlds, and where Death might well get trapped in some wild party, if only you knew how to please Him.

In her forties, Mélanie is a grumpy social worker in charge of a group of homeless people. Like an elderly “Alice” chasing after a bedraggled white rabbit, she follows Alain, one of her protegés, to Mme Pennkazh’s strange house where time seems to have stopped somewhere in the 1920’s. A colourful and exciting world opens for Mélanie and Alain. Mélanie wishes she could be part of the lives of the fascinating beings she meets at Mme Pennkazh’s tea- parties. But Mme Pennkazh has a secret and Mélanie shouldn’t try to get too close to her, for these two women’s deeper wounds will put the young man in danger of Death. There will soon be a huge sacrifice. Who has strength enough to face it? Is there a way out of “Wonderland”? Is this what we should wish for?
