Zeno Graton

After studying cinematography at INSAS in Brussels, Zeno Graton directed a graduation film, “Mouettes” (Bayard d’Or at FIFF Namur), exploring the issue of control within a couple of actors. In his next short film, “Jay parmi les hommes” (nominated for a Magritte du Cinéma Belge, selected at Clermont-Ferrand, broadcast on Arte), he portrays a silent teenager confronted with the brutal injunctions of heterosexuality. He wrote his first feature film “Le Paradis” (selected at the Berlinale, released in May 2023) at the Cinéfondation residency. “Le Paradis” tells the story of Joe, a teenager about to be released from a detention center for juvenile delinquents. If his judge approves his release, he’ll live on his own. But the arrival of a new youth, William, will challenge his desire for freedom.
