“La Fille de Brest”, filmed around Brest between November 2015 and January 2016 (Brest, CHU La Cavale Blanche, Lampaul Plouarzel, etc.) by Emmanuelle Bercot, an adaptation of Irene Frachon’s book “Médiator 150g: how many deaths?” tells the story of a pulmonologist’s fight at his Brest hospital, when he discovers a direct link between the drug, Médiator, which had been on the market for 30 years, and numerous suspicious deaths. From his intitial marginalisation to the mediatic explosion, the story inspired by Irene Franchone’s life is a battle between David and Goliath. In the end truth prevails.

The film is co-produced by Paris Brest Productions and was jointly supported by the Breizh Film Fund and the Brittany Region.
