Ghost Trail
Jonathan Millet
Presented at 2024 Cannes Film Festival (opening of the Critics’ Week), “Ghost Trail” tells the story of Hamid, a Syrian refugee, whose quest leads him to Strasbourg on the trail of his former executioner. Through a sensory hunt, the film explores the inner torments of a man struggling with his personal ghosts.
Jonathan Millet, whose documentary approach enriches the realism of the story, makes a remarkable entry into the world of fiction. This first film, produced by the Breton production company Films Grand Huit and the result of passionate work within Le Groupe Ouest’s Annual Selection in 2021, reveals a great mastery in storytelling as well as in the direction of actor. Adam Bessa brilliantly embodies all the complexity of the main role.
Le Groupe Ouest is very proud to have taken part in the project and strongly invites spectators to immerse themselves in this moving story that addresses with rare intensity the themes of exile and justice.
