The Man Who Paints Water Drops

Oan Kim & Brigitte Bouillot took part in 2015 in Groupe Ouest Développement’s Dramaturgy & Documentary workshop, in partnership with Ty Films (Mellionnec, Brittany), for the writing of “L’Homme qui peint des gouttes d’eau”. In 2016, they were awarded the Brouillon d’un rêve prize for this project.
In 2021, their extraordinary documentary film went on a world tour of festivals, stopping off in Toronto, Krakow, Barcelona and Seoul, and in 2023 they won the “Prix audiovisuel de la Scam”.

Synopsis

A wise old Korean, through the eyes of his French son, who tries to understand the obsession of a life: painting drops of water… The symbol of a certain Asian serenity that will gradually reveal a tragic origin, anchored in the history of his country.
