Vincent et les autres

In 2017 Philippe Lucas took part in Groupe Ouest Développement’s workshop – Dramaturgy & Documentary – held in collaboration with Ty Films and the Rencontres du film documentaire de Mellionnec (Center Brittany).

Synopsis

Approaching his thirtieth birthday, Vincent is a young, confiden, good-lookingt man with all sorts of with projects : cultivating his organic vegetable garden, consolidating his relationship with his girlfriend Mélina, choosing a new tattoo… Vincent would be a boy like any other if it weren’t for the three letters that he has been branded with since birth: IMC, “Infirme Moteur Cérébral”, a physical handicap which seriously disrupts both motor and speech skills. “What is a disabled person? Someone who makes you think you are normal…”. These were the words of psychoanalyst, Simone Sausse, which stuck with me during the shooting of this portrait of Vincent, over several seasons, at a decisive moment in his life.
