César & Oscars for CLOSE in 2023

CLOSE by Lukas Dhont, cowritten with Angelo Tijssens, and accompanied in the framework of Le Groupe Ouest’s Annual Selection, is nominated for International Feature Film / Oscars and Best Foreign Film / French César!

The 48th César ceremony was held on February 24, 2023 in Paris and “As Betas” won the Best Foreign Film César.
The 12nd edition of the Magritte was held on March 5, 2023 and “Close” won seven prizes: Best Flemish film, Best script, Best actress and actor in a second role (Emilie Dequenne & Igor van Dessel), Most promising actor (Eden Dambrine), Best photography (Franck van den Eeden) and Best scenery (Eve Martin).
The 95th Oscars ceremony on Monday, March 13, 2023 in Los Angeles.

After his first feature film GIRL (Un certain regard / 2018 Cannes Film Festival), Lukas Dhont immerged himself at Le Groupe Ouest to work on the writing of his second film, CLOSE, during the year 2020. Released in cinemas on November 1, 2022, the film received the Grand Prix at Cannes Film Festival in May 2022.
