From October 20 to 25, 2024, nine writers-directors and three producers based in Brittany will meet in Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages, at Le Groupe Ouest, to participate in the Boosting Ideas Workshop, a workshop designed as part of the European development programme LIM | Less is More supported by the Région Bretagne / Rannvro Breizh / Rejion Bertègn.

This week aims to share a unique approach and innovative tools to best accompany writers in the early stages of the creative process of their film project.

The selected participants come from a variety of backgrounds, such as television, documentary, short film or art film:

  • Marianne Barthélemy | Writer-director
  • Romain Champalaune | Writer-director
  • Brigitte Chevet | Writer-director
  • Gwenaëlle Clauwaert | Producer
  • Ombeline de la Gournerie | Writer-director
  • Violette Delvoye | Writer-director
  • Claire La Combe | Producer
  • François Le Gouic | Writer-director
  • Madeleine Leroyer | Writer-director

They will be accompanied by two consultant screenwriters: Bulgarian writer-director Ralitza Petrova and Polish poet Bohdan Piasecki.

The selection of participants was carried out by a jury composed of members of the LIM team, accompanied by Gemma Pascual, development officer (Catalonia, Spain), and Ivan Bakrač, screenwriter-director (Serbia), member of the LIM selection committee.

In a benevolent environment that encourages reflection and exchange, the twelve participants will work as a collective, using oral narration and visual exploration as tools of experimentation. This will stimulate their creativity and open up new perspectives.

By offering this English-language programme to local (Breton) talents of the film sector, the Région Bretagne offers them a favourable environment for further developing their projects, while facilitating their emergence at European level.

The writers-directors participating in the Boosting Ideas Workshop may, for example, apply to LIM Main Training Programme – Call for Projects closing on 18 October 2024. As for the producers, they will be able to apply as Development angels – Call opening at the beginning of 2025 and whose participants are meeting at the LIM meet, the co-production event organised in the ‘Côte des Légendes’.
