Jonathan Millet’s first feature film will open the Critics’ Week!

Since he came to Le Groupe Ouest in 2021 (Annual Selection), Jonathan Millet continues to accumulate successes, having already won several prestigious awards during the development phase of this film, including the Grand Prix at the Screenplay Prize (Prix du Scénario), the Gan Foundation Prize for Cinema, as well as the Audience Prize and the Visio Foundation Prize at the Premiers Plans Festival.

Entitled “Les Fantômes” (“Ghost Trail” in English), co-written with Florence Rochat and produced by Films Grands Huits (Pauline Seigland & Lionel Massol), this film distributed by Memento, investigates the path of Hamid, member of a group of Syrian citizens who leave everything to track down war criminals. They move around Europe in search of those responsible for the regime on the run. Against the advice of the group, Hamid follows the trail of Harfaz, his former executioner, alone in Strasbourg.

The Cannes parallel section dedicated to first and second films chose to open its Week, (May 15 to 23, 2024), with this psychological thriller which, inspired by a true story, reinvents the codes of the spy film.
