Yacine Badday
Born in Paris, Yacine Badday writes for films and television. He pursued his education in cinema and screenwriting at the University of Paris VIII. Collaborating with Alexandre Hilaire, he co-directed two documentaries, including a portrait of famed screenwriter “Jean Aurenche, écrivain de cinéma” (2010).
Transitioning to fiction filmaking, he co-wrote three films with director Chloé Mazlo, notably the feature, “Skies of Lebanon,” which was selected for Critics’ Week at Cannes 2020 and received the “Best First French Film” Award from the French Syndicate of Cinema Critics. He also co-wrote the screenplays for “Our Eternal Summer” by Émilie Aussel (Special Jury Prize “Filmakers of the Present” – Locarno Festival 2021), “Acide” by Just Philippot (Official Selection Cannes 2023 – Midnight Screening), and Lawrence Valin’s “Little Jaffna” (Film closing the Critics’ Week – Venice 2024).
He regularly serves as a script advisor for several film labs, including Le Groupe Ouest and “Next Step Volume 2” (spearheaded by Cannes’ Critics’ Week).
