Jealous Alan
LIM | Less is More 2021
Alan, Angela and Stuart’s bizarre love triangle spans 20 years. At 18 they bonded instantly. Sharing a love for noisy guitars, cigarettes and black leather jackets. They spent their youth in each other’s pockets and in each other’s beds. Now approaching 40 their co-dependence is increasingly problematic.
Alan is a struggling photographer with attachment issues and freshly out of another failed relationship. Stuart is a high school teacher with a drinking problem and an unhappy marriage to fellow teacher Joanne. Angela is a university lecturer, frustrated novelist and single mum to Louie (16). Alan and Stuart strive to be father figures, they vie for Louie’s attention like they once did Angela’s. Louie is confused. Alan, Angela and Stuart selfishly overload him with deceitful secrets. But he has his own dirty little secret. He is sexually obssesed with his teacher and Stuart’s wife Joanne.
Can this unconventional and dysfunctional family learn to set boundaries for Louie’s sake at least?
