Karolis Kaupinis
Karolis Kaupinis was born in Vilnius, Lithuania.
He’s a graduate in Comparative Politics of the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University. Since his studies Kaupinis has been working as a TV journalist. His first short fiction film “The Noisemaker” was selected in Locarno Film Festival in 2013 and has travelled through dozens of festivals ever since. His second short “Watchkeeping” has premiered in Vilnius International Film Festival.

1938. While Lithuania celebrates its Independence Day, war looms on the horizon. A young geographer pitches to the Prime Minister the idea of creating a backup state overseas, where the country’s inhabitants could move in case of danger. An odd yet heartfelt friendship arises between the two men.
