Rory Stewart
Rory Alexander Stewart is a writer and director, previously a winner of a BAFTA New Talent Writer Award for Liar (developed with Rankin Film Productions and The Bureau’s Collabor8te scheme).
He has been awarded the doc prizes at the Smalls Film Festival and London Short Film Festival for short doc The Port. In 2014 his no-budget improvised short Good Girl won The Skinny/Innis & Gunn Short Film Competition, the film made with the prize money (Misery Guts) went on to be nominated for the Channel 4 Award for Innovation in Storytelling. His previous short In the Grass played in competition at Clermont-Ferrand in 2017 after premiering at Warsaw International Film Festival in 2016. In 2017, he just completed his short film Wild Horses.

Organs In the Grass is a blackly comic police procedural that follows detective Wallace, a low-energy police detective finds himself unravelling mentally and emotionally as he struggles to conceal his guilt in killing his own partner. Unfortunately for Wallace the killer witnessed his partner’s death, he must find some way to discreetly bring to light the concealed evidence which may end up implicating him. Paired with a driven new female partner (Alice) who is keen to break the case and catch the killer Wallace must make a choice; reveal himself or stop the killer.
